Tom and Linda were at home and Tom was acting really strange and he came out of his office and told Linda that he had to go away for a little while and she asked where and he wouldn’t say.

He would only say it was for business and that he would be back in a few days and he had a bag packed and left out the door.

He had been gone about 45 minutes when Officer Patrick pulled into their driveway with two or three other police cars.

They exited their vehicles with guns drawn and came to the door.

Linda answered the door and asked, “what was going on?” And Officer Patrick just said, “We need to talk to Tom” and he asked, “Where is he?” Linda said, “Tom just left on a business trip and wouldn’t be back for a few days.”

Officer Patrick asked her, “Where was he going on business?” Linda replied, “I don’t know he would not tell me.”

“What is going on Officer Patrick?”, Linda pleaded, “What do you want with Tom?” Officer Patrick asked her what airport was he going to and she said, “I don’t know, he wouldn’t tell me anything.”

Officer Patrick radioed to dispatch that the subject wasn’t here that his wife said he had left to go on a business trip and didn’t tell her where he was going.

So they had an all points bulletin out for Tom they gave what kind of car he was driving and the license number. Patrick brought Linda into the living room and sat her down on the couch and explained that the little girl who is named Emily described her attacker and that it was one of her dad’s friends and the description fits Tom.

Does he know a Tammy and Jim Johnson?  Linda said she had heard the name a time or two.

Officer Patrick told Linda that Emily had been raped and that Tom was now the primary suspect. And that he had beat her and left her thinking she was dead and that is all that saved the little girl’s life.

Officer Patrick told Linda that they needed to bring him in for questioning and that if he didn’t have anything to do with the crime then he shouldn’t be afraid to come forward. Linda said I am sure you are looking for the wrong man, that her Tom wouldn’t do such a thing.
